Secret Workshop Grand Opening

  • Gallatin History Museum 317 West Main Street Bozeman, MT, 59715 (map)

The Secret Workshop is a place for youth to gather, work, play, or study. We have a woodworking area, 3D printer, electronics workbench, lounge, games, and plenty of projects for any teen in search of a new hobby. Rocky Mountain Toy Company and Rook's Games have partnered with the Secret Workshop to sell teen-focused games and gear in our store. We serve Treeline Coffee along with other beverages and snacks. This event marks our very first day open to the public.

The Secret Workshop is the Planet School's latest project and is done in partnership with the Gallatin History Museum. In addition to providing a space for youth, the Secret Workshop is also teen-managed. The Secret Workshop challenges teens to oversee the management of a real business and engage in civic activism on behalf of youth in Gallatin Valley. We will be opening applications for motivated, civic-minded, entrepreneurial 12-17 year olds to be a part of the Secret Workshop's governing board, which will kick off later this summer.

We invite anyone interested to come tour the Secret Workshop and learn about how you (if you're a teen) or your child can get involved in the Secret Workshop as well as other Planet School programs, like our Haunted House project that will be returning this fall.

The Secret Workshop will be open from 4-9pm. The founder of the Planet School, Thane Richard, will give a brief presentation at 6pm about the Secret Workshop, upcoming programs, and how interested youth can get involved.
