Resources at the Gallatin History Museum Research Library

The research library at the Gallatin History Museum contains material related to the history of Gallatin County people, places, businesses, events, and more. Collections include vertical files, Polk city directories, newspapers, family histories and genealogies, high school and college annals, oral histories, maps, and a large photograph collection.

Research staff and volunteers welcome research inquiries in-person and online. The Gallatin History Museum Research Library is open by appointment only, Wednesday - Saturday, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The Gallatin Historical Society accepts research requests for a non-refundable donation of $25 for the first hour. If information cannot be found, donation will go towards time spent on researching even if no results are yielded.
