RACHEL PHILLIPS | Research Director

Rachel Phillips grew up in Bozeman. She graduated from Bozeman High School and completed a Bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Museum Studies from Montana State University in 2006. She joined the staff at the Gallatin History Museum in 2008 and started the process of digitizing the photograph collection.

In her current role as the Museum’s Research Director, Rachel manages the Research Library, helps to assemble the Gallatin History Quarterly magazine, and enjoys stumbling across fascinating stories in the Museum’s archives.

 

CHARLOTTE MILLS | Operations Director

Charlotte was born in Bozeman and raised on a farm outside of Bozeman. She graduated from Belgrade High School and has an undergraduate and a masters in accounting, graduating from Weber State University in Ogden Utah.

She was the Gallatin County Clerk & Recorder/Election Administrator for 12 years and retired in December 2018. Charlotte and her husband Stan live in the remodeled farmhouse where she grew up.

 

Kristin Sherwood | Community Director

Kristin grew up in Bozeman spending much of her free time on her family’s ranch just outside of town. After returning to Montana in 2017 she has established a career in local nonprofits ranging from social services to animal welfare and the arts. She recently obtained a Master’s of Arts Leadership and Cultural Management with a Certificate in Nonprofit Administration through Colorado State University.

As Community Director, Kristin is responsible for museum marketing, fundraising and outreach.
